Kenyon College Theater (Fall 2013-May 2017)
As a student I took Introduction to Theatre in the fall semester of my freshman year, where I learned the basics of acting, directing, and Aristotelian story structure. I wrote and directed several short plays, and went on to work on theatrical productions in various backstage roles.
Roles included:
Assistant Stage Manager
Production Stage Manager
Sound Designer
Board Operator
Sexual Misconduct Advisor (2015-2017)
As an SMA at Kenyon, I completed yearly 40-hour trainings through the counseling center, which focused on helping fellow students and survivors of trauma & sexual misconduct. I was trained in hotline etiquette for counseling survivors of sexual assault, and worked regular hotline shifts, providing confidential hotline support to members of the community.
In this role, I acted as a confidential peer-to-peer counselor and on-campus resource for members of the Kenyon community.
I also facilitated educational talks on topics surrounding sexuality and consent. This included leading meetings with freshman halls at the beginning of the year to discuss sex and campus culture.
